We Hate Comics #3: Barack the Barbarian, Dark Wolverine and more

This week Diana & Shola are tired of Dark Marvel, except Dark Wolverine and the Hood which Shola & Jon love. Also, Shola completely misreads Diana’s description of Animal Man as being about Buddy’s struggle with impotency. Plus, Barack the Barbarian and Sinister Spider-Man are surprisingly fun.

    Geez Shola, you edited out some of the funniest parts! I’m sure you’re having a tough time edited Detective Comics because I botched it up so bad :S I hope you don’t toss out the intro-it was awesome! LOL

    I think Animal Man’s problem is that he is becoming a regular guy, and he can’t psychology deal with the transition. I mean it’s gotta do a number on him emotionally.

    It’s an interesting arch to watch this character go through. I’m looking forward to more.

    I’m crushed that Shola doesn’t love the Sentry. But to each their own :(
    However, you guys are a lot of fun, and give good intelligent reasons for liking/passing on comics. Good Job.

      Thanks for the feedback Elizabeth! I can’t believe Shola doesn’t love the Sentry either :(

      In fact I’ve been meaning to say that I actually disagree about Sentry not being a Marvel character. I know Shola was referring more to his godly power levels, but the whole aspect of the Void being his opposite inside him, and all the psychosis he has because of that — that makes him very flawed (to say the least) and much more of a Marvel character.

      At any rate, our next podcast reviews should be up Sunday or Monday, with Captain America Reborn and more so check those out!
